Background

The flamingo salt box is settled at 37th and Chestnut, the corner where the Hampden School is. The artist choose this spot to brighten her kids walk to school. Mary decided to paint flamingo letters to honor the well known Hampden yard decor, Hon. She also painted the mural situated behind the salt box on the school building.
